Shreyas Karle

Shreyas Karle (Mumbai, 1981) holds a degree in Fine Arts by the L.S. Raheja School of Art, Bandra, a post-graduation in Indian Aesthetics by the University of Mumbai, and a Masters in Visual Arts by the Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda. His solo shows include: Unnecessary Alcove, Project 88, Mumbai (2018), Karle Ki Koshish: Jeevan Ka Samanya Gyaan, Pundole Gallery and Project 88, Mumbai (2010), Old is Gold, Pundole Gallery, Mumbai (2009). He has participated in such group shows as: Come In, NGMA, Mumbai (2017), Other’s Other, Delhi (2016), Slipping Through the Cracks, Latitude 28, New Delhi (2013), Commercial Break, 54th Venice Biennale, Venice (2011), India Awakens – Under the Banyan Tree, ESSL Museum, Vienna (2010). He has participated in several art residencies, such as Extrapool, Nijmegen, in collaboration with Sandarbh, India (2011), Gasworks, sponsored by the Inlaks Shivdasani Foundatione and the Charles Wallace Fund (2013). He won the 2009 FICA Artist Award for Emerging Contemporary Artist of India.
